Dr. John K. Hong

Dr. John K. Hong

Dr. John K. Hong is double board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.  He received his Bachelor of Arts and Medical Doctorate degrees at Cornell and Tufts Universities.  After an internship in General Surgery, he completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Rush University Medical Center and then a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Dr. Hong is the founder and President of Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians. He serves as the medical director of inpatient and outpatient pain management at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dr. Jaison J. Thekkekara

Board-Certified in Anesthesiology, Fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine

Dr. Thekkekara is board-certified in Anesthesiology and is an attending interventional pain specialist at Gateway. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas, where he studied Biochemistry and Biology. After graduating, Dr. Thekkekara attended St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, where he received his medical degree. Shortly after, he completed his Anesthesiology Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Jennifer Hinchley, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner, Pain Management Specialist

Jennifer Hinchley MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Chamberlain University where she graduated with honors, Magna cum laude.

Poornima Panjwani, PA-C is a Board Certified Physician Assistant and specializes in Pain Management.

With over 11 years of experience treating chronic and acute pain, Poornima is an experienced Physician Assistant dedicated to helping patients improve their quality of life. Poornima believes in compassionate care and listening to her patients. She appreciates the importance of patient education.
